Canada's Multiple Media Entertainment Goes Factual

Vancouver-based MME Factual, to be led by Blair Reekie and Mark Miller, goes into the Banff World Media Festival with 17 new projects in the pipeline.

TORONTO -- There's a new player on the Canadian unscripted series scene.

Fast-growing indie producer and distributor Multiple Media Entertainment has moved into factual production.

Toronto-based Multiple Media, which is already producing a $20 million stereoscopic 3D animated feature with a working title OZ3D, is pacting with veteran non-fiction producers Blair Reekie and Mark Miller to launch MME Factual.

The new Vancouver outfit has 17 new factual series in the pipeline to be unveiled at the upcoming Banff World Media Festival.

Reekie’s series credits include Bulging Brides for Slice and WeTV, UberGuide Television for Travel + Escape, Love it or Lose it! for HGTV, and Campus Vets for National Geographic Channel.

“This partnership is a unique opportunity that allows us to leverage the strengths of two experienced companies in producing powerful and entertaining content”, Mark Miller added.

Multiple Media was launched last year by Michael Taylor and Drew Craig, both former Peace Arch Entertainment execs, with offices in Vancouver and Toronto.

Craig was co-chairman of Peace Arch Entertainment and a major investor along with Jeff Sagansky, who stepped away from the Canadian producer in 2009.
