Canada's Nelvana to sell cartoons online
EmptyTORONTO – Canadian animation producer Nelvana on Friday said it has enlisted web-shopping technology from Hewlett Packard (HP) to to create an online video store for its cartoon.
Toronto-based Nelvana said the HP Video Merchant Services technology will enable online shoppers to buy library content.
The first cartoons from Nelvana's library to be sold through the digital video download service will be episodes from "Beyblade," "Braceface," "Brian Jacques' Redwall" and "Tales from the Cryptkeeper."
Customers will be able to buy on-demand DVDs or digital downloads of cartoons from the HP-driven video web store.
"Working with HP to bring video content directly to consumers is another example of Nelvana's commitment to partnering with leaders in digital distribution to deliver our valued library to audiences in new and exciting ways," Doug Murphy, president of Nelvana Enterprises, said in a statement.
