TORONTO -- Canadian online advertising revenue jumped 38% in 2007 to CAN$1.2 billion ($1.18 billion) from a year-earlier CAN$900 million, the Interactive Advertising Bureau of Canada reported Monday.

The Canadian online advertising industry has grown steadily from revenue of CAN$237 million in 2003, and is expected to surpass CAN$1.5 billion ($1.47 billion) by the end of 2008, the industry lobby group predicted.

Last year, CAN$260 ($257 million) of online advertising revenue was generated in Quebec and the rest of Canada's French-language media market.
