Ontario government gave funds for capital improvements

TORONTO -- As the Toronto International Film Festival kicks into gear, Norman Jewison's Canadian Film Center on Sunday received a $2.5 mil lion injection from the Ontario provincial government.

Canada's leading film and TV training school, launched by Jewison in 1988, received the funds for capital improvements.

The CFC also unveiled plans for a new course for actors at the training facility, to be funded in part by Canadian broadcaster CanWest Broadcasting.
