Canal Plus reshuffles overseas division

Manuel Rougeron moves to Vietnam Satellite TV

PARIS -- French pay TV group Canal Plus is shaking things up before heading off to summer vacation with the group announcing major shuffling in its Canal Overseas division on Thursday.

The changes follow its recently announced plans for a joint venture in Vietnam.

Canal Plus will send current Canal Overseas director of programs and channel relations Manuel Rougeron to Hanoi as executive director of the group's recently launched Vietnam Satellite TV branch.

Canal Plus' head of acquisitions Sandra Ouaiss will take over Rougeron's post at Canal Overseas.

Rougeron will report to Arnaud de Villeneuve at Vietnam Satellite Television and handle all operational management relating to the new joint venture with Vietnamese public TV group VTV.

Ouaiss will supervise programming and management of all of the group's channels edited by its Canal Overseas subsidiary. The job shift will become officially effective as of July 1.
