The Instagram-ready pop-ups are facing permit problems with the City of Los Angeles.

Those who have purchased tickets to check out Candy Queen star Jackie Sorkin's Candytopia exhibition will have to wait even longer to visit the sweet space.

The team behind Candytopia announced Wednesday via its Instagram account that there's an opening delay, as they've "encountered last-minute obstacles that we are tirelessly working with the City of Los Angeles to resolve."

As a result, Candytopia says it's unable to accommodate any scheduled reservations until after Christmas. Those who would still like to visit the exhibition in the future are directed to email lucy@candytopia.com to change their reservations, and for those who don't, you can receive a refund by reaching out to ticketsupport@candytopia.com. Candytopia, located in a warehouse at L.A. Hangar Studios, is still scheduled to be open until mid-March 2018. More details can be found here.

Hi everyone, thanks so much for your patience. We want to share an important update about the opening of Candytopia. As you may have seen, we have encountered last minute obstacles that we are tirelessly working with the City of Los Angeles to resolve. Because we are not yet able to open our doors to the public, we will not be able to accommodate any scheduled reservations until after Christmas. If you receive a text message reminder from Showclix for your upcoming reservation, please disregard it. While we are not alone in being impacted, we are very sorry and have two ways that we can make this right. If you’d like to come see us on a future date, we’ll gladly adjust your reservation and give you a complimentary ticket so you can bring a friend to experience our sugarcoated dream world! Please email Lucy@candytopia.com to change your reservation. As a reminder, Candytopia will be open until mid-March 2018. We’ll make sure you’re taken care of as soon as possible, so please stand by for more information. If you’d like a refund, please reach out to ticketsupport@candytopia.com and we’ll process your request. Depending on your financial institution, it may take a few days for your refund to post to your bank account. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to email us. We are so excited to meet you and share our sweet experience. We promise it will be worth the wait! We truly appreciate your patience. Sweetest wishes, The Candy Gang

Candytopia isn't the only interactive, Instagram-ready pop-up presentation that's facing hurdles.

Happy Place, a colorful museum located in a downtown L.A. Arts District warehouse, has been shut down by the city of Los Angeles' Department of Safety and Buildings, reports ABC 7 Eyewitness News. The news station reports that "both attractions are barred from opening because temporary-use permits were not issued."

"As many of you know, we are facing challenges which have forced us to close temporarily," reads a statement from Happy Place's Instagram post on Wednesday. "We understand your frustration and are greatly sorry for your inconvenience. We want to keep you updated on our status and we have been focused on giving you the news we are all hoping for."

It continues: "As of this moment, we cannot confirm when the earliest day we can open again is but we will update you as soon as we have more news." All affected ticket holders will receive refunds or replacement tickets, according to Happy Place. More info is here.

Safety and Building Department officials told Eyewitness News that Candytopia is currently working with the city to receive proper permits, while Happy Place has yet to apply for a use permit.

Let's get those frowns turned upside down, stat.

Dear Happy Place Ticket Holder: As many of you know, we are facing challenges which have forced us to close temporarily. We understand your frustration and are greatly sorry for your inconvenience.  We want to keep you updated on our status and we have been focused on giving you the news we are all hoping for. As of this moment, we cannot confirm when the earliest day we can open again is but we will update you as soon as we have more news. Please know, all affected ticket holders will receive a refund or a replacement ticket. For those holding tickets for Thurs, Dec 14 from 3:30pm to 10:00pm, as well as all day Fri, Dec 15 – Wed, Dec 20 you should have received an email confirming your option to (1) receive a full refund for the face value of their ticket(s) plus all additional fees OR (2) exchange your ticket(s) for an alternate future date. If you did not receive an email, please contact us at tara@happyplace.me If you have requested a refund, depending on your bank, refunds can take up to 5-8 days to show up in your account. For those wanting an exchange, we have seen your comments and know one of your concerns is you are reading that we are sold out through Sunday, Jan 7. We can confirm that we have put aside enough tickets for future days (Monday, Jan 8 – Sunday, Feb 25) to ensure you will be able to attend in the future if you are seeking an exchange. Please know that we still continue to work on this night and day, and will not stop until we have a resolution. Please be patient with us as we are working our way through all of your emails to log your refund and exchange requests one by one. We are grateful for your support and look forward to this being resolved as soon as possible and to have you back at Happy Place.
