Bruce Willis will play a Venice Beach private investigator in an untitled action-comedy for Voltage Pictures.

After his best friend/dog Buddy is stolen, the old school P.I. faces off against a slew of villains including gang leaders, angry Samoan Brothers and a loan shark.

Mark and Robb Cullen will direct the film, which will shoot in Venice, California starting on June 29, 2015.

The Cullens, Nicolas Chartier, Zev Foreman and Laura Ford are producing.

“Once I sat in a room with Mark and Robb and heard their vision, I was convinced they would deliver a killer fun fast-paced, cool, action comedy. This is the perfect film for Bruce, going back to his great roles in The Whole 9 Yards and Pulp Fiction,” said Chartier.

Voltage Pictures will be launching international sales at the fest, and Voltage, CAA and WME are handling U.S. rights.

Willis most recently starred in Sin City: A Dame to Kill For and Red 2. The action and comedy actor will next be seen in Rock the Kasbah will Bill Murray. He’s repped by CAA and Ziffren Brittenham.

Mark and Robb Cullen wrote the script for Cop Out, which stars Bruce Willis and has been selling at the market. They're repped by WME.
