Cannes: A24 Picks Up Safdie Brothers' Next Film 'Uncut Gems' With Jonah Hill

The Safdie brothers latest, 'Good Time,' is playing in Cannes.

Ahead of the Cannes Film Festival kicking off Wednesday, A24 has picked up the next film by brothers Josh and Benny Safdie, Uncut Gems.

Jonah Hill will star as Howard Ratner in the project, which will be an original story set in the unscrupulous, fast-paced world of New York City's diamond district. The film is based on an original screenplay by the Safdies and Ronald Bronstein. A24 will handle worldwide rights.

Scott Rudin and Eli Bush, along with Sebastian Bear-McClard and Oscar Boyson from Elara Pictures will team with A24 on the project. Martin Scorsese and Emma Tillinger Koskoff will serve as executive producers.

The Safdie brothers' latest film, Good Time, is playing at the Cannes Film Festival and will be released by A24. The crime thriller stars Robert Pattinson.
