The thriller will be the first original film from Amazon.

For its first original film, Amazon is ready to lock down some onscreen talent.

Brit star Aaron Taylor-Johnson is in talks to star in The Wall, a war-set thriller from Doug Liman, who will direct the project before he takes on Channing Tatum's Gambit.

The streaming service acquired the Dwain Worrell-penned script that tells the story of an American sharpshooter who is trapped in a standoff with an Iraqi sniper. The script appeared on the 2014 Black List before Amazon snapped it up.

The project will be presented to international buyers at the Cannes film festival by FilmNation.

Taylor-Johnson is known for his roles in superhero movies like Kick-Ass and Avengers: Age of Ultron. He will next be seen in Tom Ford’s Nocturnal Animals alongside Jake Gyllenhaal and Amy Adams.

Taylor-Johnson is repped by UTA, Brillstein and Sloane Offer.
