The duo have been collaborating for several years and have two films playing at Cannes, Robert Redford starrer "All is Lost" and "Ain't Them Bodies Saints."

Veteran independent film executive Cassian Elwes and Robert Ogden Barnum are teaming to form new financing and production company e2b Capital, with an eye to working on 10 to 12 films annually.

Working with producers, talent agencies and foreign sales companies, e2b will arrange equity financing, gap financing and other debut solutions.

The Los Angeles-based operation is a natural extension of the collaboration between Elwes and Barnum on a number of films, beginning with J.C. Chandor's Margin Call. Working with WME, they helped package and finance David Lowery's Ain't Them Bodies Saints, starring Rooney Mara and Casey Affleck, which is playing out of competition in Cannes in Critics' Week.

They also executive produced Chandor's All is Lost, starring Robert Redford. The film makes its world premiere in Cannes next week.

“Last year was unbelievably productive and looking back I could not have done it without Rob.  He is a perfect partner for me because, apart from making on our own films, we love working on other people's films, as well as finding solutions in impossible situations. I feel privileged to work with him, he's a driven entrepreneur with a proven track record over the past few years,” Elwes said.
