Electric Entertainment has nabbed all rights in North America for the drama The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea, featuring Jason Sudeikis, Jessica Biel and Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams.

The film, the feature debut of director Bill Purple, premiered in Tribeca. In it, Sudeikis plays a distraught widower coping with the sudden death of his pregnant wife (Biel) who befriends a homeless teen (Williams). Paul Reiser and Orlando Jones co-star.

Purple co-wrote The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea with Robbie Pickering. Michelle Purple, Biel, Mike Landry, Carlos Velazquez and Chuck Pacheco produced. Justin Timberlake did the soundtrack.

The deal was announced Saturday by Dean Devlin, president and CEO of Electric Entertainment. Electric is planing a theatrical release for the title later this year.

"Jason and Maisie deliver brilliant performances in this film, and I think fans around the country will consider this a breakthrough for each of them. We are extremely proud to make this our second theatrical release from our new distribution division," said Devlin.

Electric's first-ever release will be Blackway, starring Anthony Hopkins, Julia Stiles and Ray Liotta, which is set for an all-platform bow across North America on June 10.

Zac Reeder, Electric's head of domestic distribution, vp development Ben Kim and WME Global negotiated the deal on behalf of the filmmakers.
