Fashion and film will collide at one of the Cannes film festival's hottest tickets on Thursday night.
The 20th annual amfAR Cinema Against AIDS charity event, hosted by Harvey Weinstein and Kenneth Cole, brings together the biggest names in fashion and film and will take place at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc on Thursday night.
This year's black-and-white affair will feature a fashion show called "The Ultimate Gold Collection Fashion Show," curated by Carine Roitfeld. It will highlight works by some of the most legendary and renowned fashion designers in the world. Gucci, Versace, Chanel, Christian Dior and Prada are donating dresses, which will be worn by 40 of the most famous models in the world. Among them: Alessandra Ambrosio, Rosie Huntington-Whitley, Lily Donaldson and Liberty Ross.
As usual, it will be a star-studded gala, with jury members Nicole Kidman and Christoph Waltz, and actors Leonardo DiCaprio, Kristen Scott Thomas (whose film Only God Forgives premiered on Wednesday night) and Jeremy Renner all in attendance to help present auction items.
Performers include Duran Duran, Shirley Bassey and Ellie Goulding.
The glitzy event begins with a 6 p.m. reception followed by the 8 p.m. dinner, auction and fashion show. And partygoers will extend the night with an afterparty beginning at midnight.
Since 1993, Cinema Against AIDS events have raised more than $80 million.
For those unable to score a ticket to the coveted affair, the fashion show will stream live on LoveGold.com.
