Cannes: Film Movement Takes Dietrich Brueggemann's 'Stations of the Cross'
The religious drama, a winner at the Berlin Film Festival, will be released in 2015.
Film Movement has acquired North American rights to German filmmaker Dietrich Brueggemann's Stations of the Cross, winner of the Best Script Silver Bear and Ecumenical Jury's Best Competition Film at this year's Berlin Film Festival.
The film follows a 14-year-old girl who practices a form of radical Catholicism in an effort to get closer to God.
The distributor plans a domestic festival run followed by theatrical, digital and home video releases in 2015.
The deal was finalized this week by Film Movement co-president Adley Gartenstein with Thorsten Ritter at Beta Cinema.
