Cannes First Look: Jonathan Rhys Meyers in Horror-Thriller 'Hide and Seek' (Exclusive)
The film has been developed and financed by CJ Entertainment, which is selling the film in Cannes with Hyde Park.
Jonathan Rhys Meyers ramps up the creepiness in this exclusive first-look image from Hide and Seek, which is complete and debuting to buyers in Cannes.
Rhys Meyers (The Tudors, The 12th Man, Match Point) stars alongside Jacinda Barrett (Bloodline, Poseidon, Ladder 49), Joe Pantoliano (The Sopranos, Memento) and Mustafa Shakir (Luke Cage, The Deuce) in the social horror-thriller, directed by Joel David Moore and building upon themes related to the widening gap between the upper one percent and the lower class.
As the population in urban areas balloons and real estate prices skyrocket, lower-income segments of society are finding themselves continually getting pushed out. Hide and Seek explores the question of "what if" when those left marginalized decide to take matters, and homes, into their own hands. Eerily, the subject matter is based on an actual phenomenon.
In the film, a man searching for his long-lost brother stumbles upon a secret.
Hide and Seek has been developed and financed by CJ Entertainment. Sales are being handled by ICM (North America), CJ (Asia) and Hyde Park (Worldwide outside of North America and Asia).
Rhys Meyers, meanwhile, has a number of projects in development, including The Aspern Papers, Holy Lands, Wake Up and Altitude.
