Luis Prieto is directing the movie for producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura.

Halle Berry will star in the high-octane thriller Kidnap, playing a mother who will stop at nothing to rescue her kidnapped son.

Lorenzo di Bonaventura's Di Bonaventura Pictures is producing Kidnap alongside Erik Howsam. CAA packaged the movie and represents domestic rights. Lotus Entertainment is selling the project internationally and will shop Kidnap to foreign buyers at the Cannes Film Market.

Luis Prieto (Pusher) will direct from a script by Knate Gwaltney.

“Lorenzo is a renowned producer in the blockbuster action world, and we’re very excited to be working on such an exciting high-concept project with him. We look forward to seeing him join forces with the incredible talent of Halle Berry and Luis Prieto on a project that is sure to appeal to audiences worldwide," said Lotus chiefs Bill Johnson and Jim Seibel.

Berry and her producing partner Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, who run 606 Films, will executive produce Kidnap alongside Joey Tufaro, Colin Bates, Claudia Bluemhuber, Florian Dargel, D.J. Gugenheim, Ara Keshishian, Johnson and Seibel. Bluemhuber and Dargel run Silver Reel.

Kidnap marks the second time Lotus, di Bonaventura and Silver Reel have collaborated after Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, which is currently in development.
