The film, from 'Trollhunter' director Andre Ovredal, is being sold in Cannes by IM Global.

Nat Wolff (The Fault in Our Stars, Paper Towns) is set to star in Mortal, the upcoming fantasy adventure from Norwegian filmmaker Andre Ovredal (The Autopsy of Jane Doe, Trollhunter).

Written by Ovredal, Norman Lesperance and Geoff Bussetil, the film is a coming-of-age origins story of a young man (Wolff) discovering he has God-like powers based on ancient Norwegian mythology.

The casting was announced by producers Nordisk Film’s John Einar Hagen, Automatik’s Brian Kavanaugh-Jones and 42’s Ben Pugh and Rory Aitken.

IM Global is handling international sales on the feature at the ongoing Cannes Film Market. Nordisk Film will distribute the pic in the Nordic countries. WME is handling U.S. sales.

U.K.-based management and production company 42 and IM Global, who is also handling international sales on Mortal, produced Andre Ovredal’s latest film The Autopsy of Jane Doe, which was a worldwide cult festival hit following its world premiere at the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival and was released in the U.S. earlier this year, with a U.K. digital release by Lionsgate to follow in June.

Ovredal will executive produce alongside Henrik Zein, Aage Aaberge, Malene Ehlers, Joshua Horsfield and Aron Coleite.

“Nat Wolff is a talented young actor who has demonstrated tremendous range in his roles to date, with Mortal offering him the perfect vehicle to showcase his abilities," Hagen, Kavanaugh-Jones and Pugh said in a statement.

They added, "Andre is a visionary director who has written a truly immersive, epic tale which takes advantage of Norway’s stunning landscapes, and we can’t wait to see him in action on set.”

Wolff is repped by CAA, Untitled Entertainment and Definition Entertainment.
