Cannes: Ron Perlman Boards Action Thriller 'Grady'
The 'Sons of Anarchy' star joins the indie hit man drama being shopped for presales on the French Riviera.
Ron Perlman has boarded Grady, an action thriller from co-producers Breakthrough Entertainment and Blue Fox Entertainment being shopped for presales in Cannes.
The Sons of Anarchy star joins the indie drama about a hit man with the unique power to feel no pain. He emerges from hiding to defend his family against a rival hit man even more deadly than he is.
D.C. Hamilton is directing Grady, which is set to shoot later this year. No word on additional casting.
Perlman starred in all but the last season of FX's Sons of Anarchy and also starred in the recent Amazon series Hand of God.
The fan-favorite actor, known for starring in the Hellboy movies, was most recently seen in the Harry Potter spinoff Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
Toronto-based Breakthrough and L.A.-based partner Blue Fox Entertainment signed a multipicture co-production and distribution deal just before the European Film Market in Berlin last February.
Other films to come out of the pact include The Truth About Lies, starring Cloverfield star Odette Annable and Cabin in the Woods' Fran Kranz; Heartland, starring Laura Spencer and Beth Grant; and the horror film Child Eater.
"Since forging this relationship, further collaboration with Blue Fox Entertainment provides an opportunity for both studios to complement each other and grow in terms of the production, sales and distribution of premium titles," Nat Abraham, partner and president, distribution at Breakthrough said in a statement.
Perlman is repped by Gersh and LINK Entertainment.
