The film is to be released theatrically in October.

Russian distributor A-One Films has picked up theatrical rights to Xavier Dolan's Cannes competition film Juste la fin du monde (It's Only the End of the World) for Russia.

The story of a writer visiting his hometown after a 12-year absence in a bid to announce his upcoming death to his family will be released theatrically this coming October, a spokesperson for A-One Films told The Hollywood Reporter.

Dolan's previous films were released in Russia by smaller distributor PROVzglyad and now-defunct P&I Films.

A-One Films is currently one of the main players in Russia's art house segment, alongside Volga and Arthouse. It also acquired Olivier Assayas' Cannes competition film Personal Shopper for a Russian release.

Over the last few years, the company has released in Russia several other Cannes competition films, including Paolo Sorrentino's La grande bellezza and Youth.
