'Can't Buy Me Love' Star Amanda Peterson Died of Acute Morphine Toxicity
The actress died on July 3 in Colorado at age 43.
Can't Buy Me Love actress Amanda Peterson's cause of death has been revealed.
Peterson, who was 43, died on July 3 of acute morphine toxicity, the Weld County Coroner's Office in Colorado told The Hollywood Reporter. Her body was found in her Greeley, Colo. home on July 5.
After her body was found, Peterson's father told TMZ that "She had some illness and a sleep apnea problem that may have contributed."
Peterson is best known for starring opposite Patrick Dempsey in the 1987 romantic comedy Can't Buy Me Love. Dempsey paid tribute to his former co-star on Twitter last month, posting that she was "gone too soon" and would "always be vibrant and young" in his memory.
