Carol Lombardini named AMPTP president

Labor negotiator has worked for the group for 27 years

Veteran labor negotiator Carol Lombardini has been named president of the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers. She has been acting president since April, when longtime president Nick Counter retired.

Lombardini has worked for the AMPTP, the studios' and networks' bargaining representative in labor negotiations with the Hollywood unions, for 27 years.

"I'm honored to be named president of the AMPTP at such a pivotal moment in our industry," Lombardini said. "I look forward to leading the AMPTP as the businesses of our member companies evolve. I am also committed to building on my long-standing relations with our bargaining partners across the entertainment industry. The most important challenge we face is finding ways for the companies and guilds and unions to reach agreements that do everything possible to keep the business vital."
