Following a brief teaser during an NFL playoffs commercial last weekend, Carrie Underwood has debuted a new anthemic jam, "The Champion," featuring rap veteran Ludacris.

The Jim Jonsin-produced record, which was released alongside a lyric video today, has been confirmed to be the opening track for Super Bowl LII. The song will also be accompanied by a video during the opening on Feb. 4.

"When they write my story, they're gonna say that I did it for the glory. / But don't think I did it for the fame, yeah, I did it for the love of the game," Underwood preaches through the flaming guitar riffs and thumping percussion. Ludacris follows up the singer's powerful chorus, dishing out a bold lyrical verse.

Underwood looks to make a strong return in 2018 following a serious fall that required her to undergo surgery on her wrist and receive stitches on her face.
