American Music Awards: Carrie Underwood Gives Emotional Performance of "Spinning Bottles"
The country singer performed the ballad off her latest album, out last month.
Carrie Underwood returned to the American Music Awards stage for the first time since 2015 on Tuesday night to perform “Spinning Bottles,” off her new album, Cry Pretty.
The lyrics were illustrated quite literally as she performed on a rotating stage lined with candles fixed to glass bottles. The emotional performance earned the singer a standing ovation from the crowd at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
Underwood, currently expecting her second child with husband Mike Fisher, wore a long red gown that showed off her baby bump. She announced her pregnancy in August.
The American Idol winner also took home favorite female country artist tonight, marking her 13th AMA win.
The sixth album from the country star debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart last month, making Underwood the first woman in history to land four country albums at the top of the chart.
