Carson Daly returns to L.A. radio

Will fill vacant morning spot on AMP Radio beginning Jan. 4

Carson Daly is returning to his radio roots with a new morning drive show on Los Angeles' KAMP-FM (97.1).

Beginning Jan. 4, Daly will host the 6-10 a.m. block on the station, which changed its format to music hits in February.

Daly served as a night host on Los Angeles' KROQ-FM before becoming the host of MTV's "Total Request Live."

Daly now hosts NBC's late-night talk show "Last Call with Carson Daly" as well as the network's "New Year's Eve with Carson Daly Live from Times Square" special.

"Now, not only can people fall asleep to my late night show on NBC, but they can wake up with me on the radio, too," Daly said.

Daly joins another popular TV host, Ryan Seacrest, who also has a radio morning show in Los Angeles, on KIIS-FM.
