'Casper' to appear on Viacom18

3D ghost series a multination co-production

NEW DELHI -- "Casper" will appear on Viacom18's kids channel Nick following a deal by Indian animation studio DQ Entertainment.

3D animated series "Casper" is budgeted at $9.36 million and is a co-production between Classic Media, USA, France's MoonScoop Group, TF1 France and Cartoon Network for which DQE holds exclusive distribution rights for some Asian territories, under which the deal with Viacom18 was signed, the companies said in a statement Monday.

The 52-episode series, which is already airing on TF1 France, will broadcast on Nick from November across South Asia.

Hyderabad, South India-based DQE chairman Tapaas Chakravarti said, "We have grown up reading and watching the escapades of this friendly ghost and it is a privilege to now produce this series with Classic Media and Moonscoop for generation-next."
