Jeffrey Nordling, Todd Stashwick and John Terry are waxing up their boards for "Surfer Dude," joining the j.k. livin and Playtone Pictures production. In the tale of a soul-searching surfer (Matthew McConaughey) experiencing an existential crisis, Nordling will play a man who used to surf a lot but couldn't resist the lure of reality TV, while Stashwick plays a surfer and close buddy of McConaughey's character. Terry is playing an older, overstressed surfer. The movie is in production. Nordling most recently appeared in the F/X series "Dirt" opposite Courteney Cox as well as the features "Home of the Brave" and "Flicka." Stashwick recently completed the first season of F/X's "The Riches." Terry, who plays Matthew Fox's father on ABC's "Lost," recently appeared in David Fincher's "Zodiac." Stashwick additionally is repped by Meghan Schumacher Management, and Terry also is repped by 1 Management. … Darrin Dewitt Henson has nabbed the role of legendary running back Jim Brown in Universal Pictures' "The Express," the life story of Ernie Davis, the first black player to win the Heisman Trophy, being directed by Gary Fleder. Brown, also a real-life character in the film, becomes Davis' best friend on and off the field. Shooting is under way in Chicago. Henson, best known for his work on Showtime's "Soul Food," recently starred opposite Queen Latifah in HBO Films' "Life Support" and appeared in Sony Screen Gems' hit feature "Stomp the Yard." Henson is repped by Innovative and Adam Griffin at Kritzer/Levine/Wilkins Entertainment. … Kelly Blatz has joined the cast of Sony Screen Gems' remake of the 1980 horror film "Prom Night," directed by Nelson McCormick. Joining the previously announced Brittany Snow and Iris Alba, Blatz will play Michael, one of the teens who is hunted down on prom night by a mysterious killer from their past. Blatz next appears in the upcoming BlackBear Films feature "The Oakley Seven." Blatz is repped by APA, Roklin Management and Bloom, Hergott & Diemer. … Milauna Jemai has been added to the cast of "Bolden!" the Buddy Bolden biopic being directed by Dan Pritzker. She will play Nora Bolden, the wife of Buddy (Anthony Mackie) and the mother of their little girl. "Bolden!" is filming in Wilmington, N.C. Jemai was an ensemble character on Showtime's "The Underground" and has appeared on the series "Dexter" and "Without a Trace." She is repped by A.B.A. and Martin Berneman Management. … Yvonne Strzechowski ("Chuck") has fallen into "The Canyon," a thriller helmed by Richard Harrah. Strzechowski is playing a wife on her honeymoon with her husband (Eion Bailey) when their journey to a remote area of the Grand Canyon goes horribly wrong. Will Patton also stars. She is repped by McKeon-Myones Management. … Nestor Carbonell has joined the cast of Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight," the next installment in Warner Bros. Pictures "Batman" franchise. He is playing the mayor of Gotham City. The film is in production. Carbonell, who recently appeared on the big screen in "Smokin' Aces," recurs as Richard Alpert on ABC's "Lost." Additionally, he will star alongside Jimmy Smits in the new CBS show "Cane," set to air in the fall. Carbonell is repped by Paradigm, Thruline Entertainment and Nelson, Felker, Toczek and Davis.
