Zeb Newman has booked a role in "Jolene," an indie film adaptation of the E.L. Doctorow short story "Jolene: A Life." Dan Ireland is directing. Newman stars as a young man who marries the title character and brings her home to live with his aunt and uncle. He later discovers that Jolene and his uncle are lovers. The cast includes Dermot Mulroney, Denise Richards, Donald Sutherland and Michael Vartan. Newman recently appeared in an episode of "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" and in a November sweep episode of "House," in which he played a patient and son of John Larroquette. Daily is best known for her voice work — among her credits is the "Powerpuff Girls" character Buttercup — and currently can be heard in the animated film "Happy Feet," in which she voices the young version of the dancing penguin Mumble. She is repped by ICM, Immortal Access and Society Entertainment. … Joe Estevez, Kerry Wallum and Derek Lee Nixon will star in the low-budget horror movie "The Lights," being directed by John Sjogren. The story revolves around four college kids who, while watching a meteor shower in the Texas countryside, encounter a psychopath connected to the mysterious lights in the sky. Principal photography began Nov. 28 at Ranch Studios in Kyle, Texas.
