CBC, qubo go to the 'Turbo Dogs'

TORONTO -- Canadian cartoon producer CCI Entertainment and partner Scholastic Entertainment on Monday said they have pre-sold "Turbo Dogs" to the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. and the U.S.-based, multiplatform qubo network.

Toronto-based CCI said that the CBC picked up the 3D animation series for its kids TV lineup, while qubo will launch the cartoon about racing dogs on its fall schedule.

CCI and Scholastic also indicated that New Zealand producer Huhu Studios has come on board as a third co-producer.

Based on the book "Racer Dogs" by illustrator Bob Kolar, "Turbo Dogs" is aimed at boys and girls 4 to 7 years of age and includes lessons in numeracy and keeping direction and time as well as entertaining storylines, according to the producers.
