CBS gets more 'Bang' on Monday

Despite increased competition from ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" finale, CBS' "The Big Bang Theory" (10 million viewers, preliminary 3.9 rating/10 share in adults 18-49) matched its season-high adult demo rating and delivered its largest audience ever, while "How I Met Your Mother" (10 million, 4.3/11) hit a season high in viewers.

The Eye's "Two and a Half Men" (15 million, 5.3/12) and "Worst Week" (10.2 million, 3.2/8) were unchanged. "CSI: Miami" (14.1 million, 3.9/10) fell slightly coming off last week's milestone episode.

ABC was second for the evening in the demo but first among total viewers, with Part 1 of the "Dancing" finale (21.1 million, 4.7/12) the most-watched and second-highest-rated program of the night. The final "Dancing" performance show was up from last week's episode, though down about 20% from last year's finale.

"Dancing" helped slightly boost "Samantha Who?" (10.7 million, 2.9/7) but not "Boston Legal" (8.2 million, 2.1/6).

In third, NBC aired "Chuck" (6.5 million, 2.4/7) and "Heroes" (7.5 million, 3.5/8), the latter slipping a tenth to a new low, followed by "My Own Worst Enemy" (3.8 million, 1.7/4).

In fourth, Fox's "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" (4.6 million, 1.8/5) and "Prison Break" (5.3 million, 2.1/5) matched or set lows. On the CW, with "Gossip Girl" on hiatus and a "One Tree Hill" repeat in its place, the 9 p.m. "Tree" original (2.2 million, 1.1/2) dropped off. (partialdiff)
