CBS goes for new captive audience
The CBS Marketing Group has announced it will provide original branded content to the Healium Waiting Room Network -- a new viewing channel created by AVTV that is offered in thousands of medical offices nationwide. While it now reaches 300,000 waiting patients a month, the Healium network is expected to reach 3 million viewers monthly in 2008, when the service becomes available to medical clients serviced by Henry Schein, Inc., which serves more than 120,000 medical practices in the United States, CBS said. "Since most patients become impatient waiting to be seen by their practitioner, this is a great way to transform the waiting room experience by offering them entertaining programming and informative stories from CBS," said George Schweitzer, president of the CBS Marketing Group. "With this latest partnership, we continue to expand on our successful Outernet strategy -- finding unique ways to reach a captive audience when they're out of their homes."
