CBS promotes two marketing executives

Garen van de Beek, Lori Shefa replace the late Ron Scalera

CBS has promoted two marketing executives to replace the late Ron Scalera.

Garen van de Beek has been named executive vp and creative director, CBS Marketing Group, while Lori Shefa will succeed van de Beek as senior vp of on-air promotion.

In his new role, van de Beek will be responsible for all creative and production elements of the network's marketing, including on-air promotion, print, cable, online, digital, outdoor and radio. Shefa will lead the production of promotional campaigns designed to launch and support CBS programming.

"Ron Scalera's legacy is large and will not be forgotten," said George Schweitzer, president, CBS Marketing Group. "He built a tremendous organization and a first class team. Garen and Lori have long been an important part of that team and are each dynamic, creative and collaborative leaders. We are so fortunate to have them guide our talented, imaginative and dedicated group of writers, producers, editors, designers and others as we move ahead."

Since joining the CBS marketing department in 1999, van de Beek has served various positions in the company and was Scalera's second in command. Shefa first joined the network in 1997 as director of affiliate on-air promotion.
