CBS Radio tunes in CFO Guitano

CBS Corp.'s ailing radio unit has tapped Anton Guitano as its new CFO as it continues to work on a turnaround.

Guitano, who also will carry the title of senior executive vp finance and operations, replaces Walter Berger, who will remain with the company to work on special projects under the direction of CBS Corp. CFO Fredric Reynolds.

Guitano reports to CBS Radio president and CEO Dan Mason, who took that post in late March.

Guitano, who has worked for CBS for nearly three decades, most recently was executive vp operations and CFO of the CBS Television Stations Group.

"Anton is one of the strongest financial executives in the company with a record of success at every step of his career," said Mason, who also highlighted his financial discipline and competitiveness. "Additionally, he has a proven background in local operations that will extend the scope of his contributions far beyond finance."

Mason, who is set to appear next week at an investor conference to discuss his unit's strategic changes and outlook in more detail, said 2008 will be "filled with important growth opportunities."

Among his various CBS posts, Guitano also was vp and general auditor at CBS Inc., controller for the CBS Television Network and its TV stations as well as audit manager at the CBS Internal Audit Department.
