Former Style Network executive and syndication veteran Elaine Bauer Brooks has been named executive vp development at CBS Television Distribution, where she will oversee development of new programming.

Bauer Brooks joins the syndication division from Style Network, where she most recently served as executive producer on the network's Fashion Week programming as well as the series Style Pop. Before that, she was senior vp development at Style Network, where she worked on series such as Kimora: Life in the Fab Lane, Ruby and Style Her Famous.

Bauer Brooks began her career in syndicated television working on daytime talk shows. She was a producer on Telepictures’ Jenny Jones and later oversaw Ricki Lake as director of development at Columbia TriStar.

She then became vp programming at CBS/Eyemark Entertainment in 2000, followed by a move to scripted programming as vp development at Imagine Television, where she oversaw primetime series, including Fox's 24.

She then returned to her syndication roots as senior vp development and current programming for Twentieth Television, where she developed and oversaw shows such as the daytime talk show On-Air With Ryan Seacrest and court show Judge Alex.

"Elaine has truly versatile experience from being a hands-on producer to having the perfect combination of unscripted, scripted and digital expertise," CTD president of creative affairs Hilary Estey McLoughlin said. "I have no doubt that her creativity and drive will enable her to develop innovative, multiplatform first-run syndication brands for CTD."

CTD's first-run slate includes Judge Judy, Dr. Phil, Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy!, Rachael Ray, The Doctors, Entertainment Tonight, The Insider and The Arsenio Hall Show.

Bauer Brooks is also the founder and editor of the lifestyle blog The List Collective, which she created in August 2011. She has also been a lifestyle writer and blogger for The Huffington Post.
