CCI picks up 'Alice Upside Down'

Alyson Stoner comedy produced by Avondale

TORONTO -- Canadian distributor CCI Entertainment has picked up the international rights to the Alyson Stoner-starring tween comedy "Alice Upside Down," while Starz Entertainment retains the U.S. rights.

The acquisition follows a festival run for the Sandy Tung-directed family movie adapted from the "Alice" novels by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor.

The movie features Stoner ("The Suite Life of Zack & Cody") as a young girl who moves to a new town with her older brother, played by Lucas Grabeel ("High School Musical"), and her single dad (Luke Perry), six years after the death of her mother.

"Alice Upside Down" was produced by Open Pictures and Avondale Prods., with James Gould, Dale Rosenbloom and Carl Borack sharing producer credits.
