Cecchi Gori on the 'Hunt'

Beleaguered Italian movie producer Vittorio Cecchi Gori, still searching for his first hit since the start of the decade, said Thursday that his next film will be about hunting.

The producer has been hounded by financial and legal problems, slowing from making an average of 10 films a year in his 1990s heyday to just two since the end of 2005.

But the son of famed producer Mario Cecchi Gori is eyeing a comeback. He is a co-producer on Kirk Jones' recently completed adventure comedy "Everybody's Fine," starring Robert De Niro and Drew Barrymore, while "El baile de la Victoria," a Spanish-language dance drama from Fernando Trueda, is in postproduction.

His next film is "The Goddess of the Hunt," which will have an international cast and explore hunting in a new way. (partialdiff)
