Celebrity Supporters Team Up for 'Draw the Line' Campaign PSA
Morena Baccarin and Stanley Tucci are among those featured in the new PSA, titled "Forward," from the Center of Reproductive Rights.
Hollywood is showing its support of women's rights with a new PSA released Wednesday from the Center of Reproductive Rights. The video features Stanley Tucci, Whitney Cummings, Homeland's Morena Baccarin, True Blood's Mehcad Brooks and comedian Lizz Winstead urging President Obama to prioritize reproductive rights in his second term.
"Clearing the way for every woman to get the full range of health care she needs," says Baccarin in the video. "That's forward. Putting science before politics on reproductive health issues," Tucci adds. Among the issues are access to affordable contraception without a co-payment for women and the more than one dozen laws in the past four months combating against such freedoms.
The PSA, titled "Forward," is partnered with the Center founder and CEO Nancy Northup's open letter to the president on women's rights. Northup and Raising Hope's Martha Plimpton, who also founded reproductive rights group A is For, will also meet with Congress members in June.
"Today, we are calling on President Obama to live up to his promise to fight for quality and affordable health care for all women," Northup in a statement.
This is all part of the organization's Draw the Line campaign, which has garnered more than 200,000 signatures on the Bill of Reproductive Rights across all 50 states.
