Celtic Rose takes its 'Thumps'


Celtic Rose Entertainment has optioned the rights to Obert Skye's young-adult fantasy book series "Leven Thumps."

Leven Thumps is a 14-year-old boy who that learns his fate is to save the ailing world of Foo, a world that allows mankind to dream and imagine. The deal includes "Leven Thumps and the Gateway to Foo," "Leven Thumps and the Whispered Secret," the recently released "Leven Thumps and the Eyes of the Want" as well as two more planned novels.

Celtic Rose is a young production shingle that focuses on visual development and creative packaging of intellectual properties for features and TV.

"Our goal is to discover and develop properties that have engaging stories with ambitious visual elements," company founder and VFX professional Randall Rosa said. " 'Leven Thumps' is such a perfect fit for the company with its strong story line and visual challenges."

Celtric Rose also is developing "Ghosts of Albion," based on the series of books written by Christopher Golden and Amber Benson; "Something From the Nightside," based on the series by Simon Green; and Jay Williams' young-adult fantasy book "Hero From Otherwhere."
