CEO of Jamba, Fox Mobile resigns

NEW YORK -- Lucy Hood, CEO of Jamba and president of Fox Mobile, has resigned, the company said Wednesday.

Jamba COO Lee Fenton will take over for Hood until the News Corp. division finds a new CEO.

Said Hood in a statement: "I'm eager to pursue more entrepreneurial ventures and I'm looking forward to the next opportunity."

Hood had been with News for more than a decade and helped launch Fox Mobile Entertainment in 2005. During her tenure she introduced text voting on "American Idol" and worked on original mobile content projects.

In 2006, she oversaw News' acquisition of the majority share of mobile content provider Jamba from VeriSign. After the acquisition she was named CEO of Jamba, which remains a joint venture between News and VeriSign.
