Chadwick Boseman Starrer '42' to Be Rereleased in AMC Theatres

Warner Bros./Photofest

The screenings begin Sept. 3 in more than 300 locations.

42, the Jackie Robinson biopic starring Chadwick Boseman, will be rereleased in AMC Theatres to celebrate the late actor's life, the circuit announced Tuesday.

Beginning Sept. 3, more than 300 AMC locations will participate in the rerelease, which is being done in partnership with Warner Bros. and Legendary. Tickets will cost $5 and will be on sale by the end of today.

The theater chain, which recently began opening up locations after the nationwide shutdown amid COVID-19, asked patrons about their favorite Boseman performance (save for Black Panther). 42 topped the list, which also included Marshall and Get on Up.

Boseman, who died of colon cancer at the age of 43, was most recently seen in Netflix feature Da 5 Bloods. His final performance in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom will be released posthumously on Netflix.
