Chan preaching anti-piracy message

HONG KONG -- Jackie Chan, the MPA and the China Film Copyright Protection Assn. have resorted to unusual new measures, providing a "Thank You" refrigerator magnet to consumers who buy legitimate DVDs, the MPA said Monday.

The message on the fridge magnet reads, "Thank You for Purchasing Legitimate DVDs. Your Action Determines the Future of the Film Industry!"

The China fridge magnet initiative is supported by for customers who buy a copy of MPA member company films "Perfect Stranger," "The Bourne Ultimatum" and "No Reservations."

"Buy legal copies isn't just a slogan, so put it into action! Support the film industry and show your children that piracy is wrong!" Chan said in a statement.

Fridge magnets sporting local icon Temuera Morrison already have been distributed by the MPA in New Zealand.
