NEW DELHI -- Channel V India head Amar K. Deb plans to leave the music network after eight years, he told The Hollywood Reporter on Thursday.

"I plan to venture into an exciting opportunity with some partners in the Internet space, details of which will be shared at a later stage," Deb said.

Deb said he is serving out his three-month notice period, after which he will officially leave.

Star India vp communications Yash Khanna said that, until a replacement is announced, Channel V head of marketing Saurabh Kanwar will take over in the interim period.

"We wish Amar all the best in his future endeavors," Khanna said in an interview.
