“I must say I wasn’t sure,” admits Tatum of his upcoming film White House Down. “A lot of people call me up, and they want to put a gun in my hand, and it’s such a weird place to be in. America is very, very divided right now. But I felt [this film] was a good way to point out some of the issues in our country [including the polarization of Washington] without being too dramatic or heavy.”

Peter Kiernan is joining the "22 Jump Street" star and Reid Carolin as a producer at their Free Association production shingle.

Former Management 360 manager and partner Peter Kiernan has joined Channing Tatum and Reid Carolin at the duo’s production banner, the newly renamed Free Association.

Kiernan co-managed Tatum and Carolin with 360 partner and board member William Choi for over a decade but will now transition to be a partner at Free Association.

At Free Association, he will oversee the day-to-day operations of the company.  He will also work with Tatum and Carolin on the company’s growing production slate.

Tatum’s star has continued to rise in the last several years, not just as an actor but as a producer. Tatum and Carolin are producer and exec producer, respectively, on 22 Jump Street. And they produced the surprise hit Magic Mike and are prepping the sequel for a fall start.

Among their projects in development are Evel, an Evel Knievel biopic set up at Sony, and Lodi, a crime drama based on the true story of a Cadillac dealer and family man who went undercover to take down a mob boss. Free Association is adapting and producing The Son, a crime novel from Norwegian writer Jo Nesbo.

The company also has a deal with MRC to develop television projects.

Kiernan has been a manager at Management 360 since its inception in 2002. Prior to that, he was a manager at More-Medavoy and Talent Entertainment Group.  He became a partner in 2010 and a board member in 2013.

Channing, Carolin and Free Association will continue to be repped by Choi, Darin Friedman and others at Management 360. They also continue to be repped by UTA and Hansen Jacobson.
