Charles King's Macro Names CFO
Eric Briggs will serve in the dual role of chief strategy officer and chief financial officer for the company behind 'Mudbound.'
Macro, the multicultural media company founded by former WME partner Charles King, has added to its executive ranks.
The company has appointed Eric Briggs as joint CFO and chief strategy officer. Ron Hohauser previously served as acting CFO.
Briggs joins Macro from FTI Consulting, where he was a senior adviser co-managing the firm's valuation and financial advisory services group. He previously co-founded The Salter Group, a financial and strategic advisory that worked with the entertainment industry. Over the years, Briggs has worked with such entertainment and media clients Disney, Sony, NBCUniversal and Warner Bros.
King said of Briggs, "He brings more than 20 years of strategic and financial expertise to our company. Additionally, his depth and breadth of knowledge serving the media and entertainment sectors further strengthens Macro's market position."
The Brown alumnus joins an executive team that includes president of production Kim Roth and senior vp development and production Poppy Hanks. Macro, which is developing projects for film, television and digital, is currently prepping for the Nov. 17 release of Dee Rees-directed feature Mudbound on Netflix. The company was also a producer on Denzel Washington's Fences.
"With access to great content and capital, Macro is uniquely positioned in the rapidly transforming entertainment and media sectors," said Briggs. "I look forward to leveraging my experience in finance and media with one of the most forward-thinking firms in the industry."
