The genre festival planned a virtual appearance by Kirk and director Neil Marshall after a stream of 'The Reckoning' Thursday night.

Charlotte Kirk, the actress at the center of NBCUniversal vice chairman Ron Meyer’s sudden exit earlier this week, has apparently pulled out of a virtual Q&A after the screening of The Reckoning at the Fantasia Film Festival on Thursday night.

Kirk had been scheduled to answer questions via the Zoom platform from film viewers alongside Neil Marshall, director of The Reckoning, and who is also her husband.

A Fantasia spokesperson told THR that the decision to cancel the Q&A was mutually made by Marshall and the festival "so as to not take any attention away from the premiere this evening."

But it follows revelations earlier this week that Kirk, whose involvement with Warner Bros. chief Kevin Tsujihara led to that executive's ouster last year, was also romantically involved with Meyer.

Fantasia is still set to open its  2020 virtual edition with a special screening of Marshall's The Reckoning, a horror movie that takes places during witch hunts in 17th century England.

It also stars Joe Anderson, Steven Waddington and Sean Pertwee.

Marshall's period drama is set against the backdrop of England's Great Plague and subsequent witch hunts.
