Chinese delegation headed to MIPTV

TV program exchanges to be explored at Cannes confab

LONDON -- China's State Administration of Radio, Film, and Television Vice Minister Tian Jin will lead a high-powered Chinese industry delegation at a series of "Focus on China" events and private receptions to be held at this year's MIPTV.

Tian Jin said that, despite the global economic crisis, "China's economy remains relatively vibrant." He said that the aim of attending MIPTV "is to develop television program exchanges and co-operation with other countries, to promote mutual understanding and friendship between China and the world."

SARFT said it plans to use MIPTV to encourage international players to embark on more and wider factual co-productions with Chinese organizations at a dedicated seminar titled "Cooperation Between China and Other Countries in Television Programs."

MIPTV runs March 30-April 3 in Cannes.
