The young actress, who worked with Lee in 'Hugo' and 'Dark Shadows,' recalled the influence he had on her.

Film-industry veterans and fans are mourning Thursday the death of prolific British actor Christopher Lee, best known for his roles as Dracula and other movie monsters; James Bond villain ScaramangaLord of the Rings' white wizard Saruman; and Sith Lord Count Dooku in the Star Wars prequel films.

He also appeared alongside Johnny Depp, who has called Lee "a wonderful inspiration," in Tim Burton's Dark Shadows, which also starred Chloe Grace Moretz — who already had worked with Lee in Martin Scorsese's Oscar winner Hugo.

In a series of tweets posted Thursday morning, Moretz recalled the influence Lee had on her, saying she would "never forget everything that he taught me and the wonderful conversations we had and how he always helped me keep my head up."

She called working with him an "immense pleasure" and posited that it was "a huge testament to what a brilliant actor he was that someone from the age of 12 had the pleasure of personally acting opposite him in film."
