Chris Albrecht shuffles execs at Starz

Bill Hamm exiting; Carmi Zlotnik, John Penney hired

As part of a senior management reorganization at Starz, Chris Albrecht has brought two of his former IMG and HBO executives aboard, while Bill Hamm is stepping down as executive vp production and development.

Carmi  Zlotnik has been named to the new position of Starz Media managing director, while John Penney has been given the new title of executive vp strategy and business development at Starz Llc.

Both will be based in Beverly Hills, reporting to Starz president/CEO Albrecht, who previously was head of IMG Global Media and chairman/CEO of HBO.

Zlotnik will manage production of the company's original series, including "Spartacus: Blood and Sand," which will begin shooting its second season later this year, and new drama "Camelot."

He was most recently head of global operations at IMG and before that spent 20 years at HBO in various capacities, including positions in original programming production, business development, new media and animation.
Penney will assist Albrecht in evaluating and building key business strategies and partnerships and identifying and developing new business opportunities across the various Starz companies.

Penney, who also worked with Albrecht at Foresee Entertainment as president and head of corporate development, was head of strategy at IMG and before that was senior vp digital initiatives at HBO.
