The former New Jersey governor will contribute to the network's State of the Union coverage on Tuesday.

Chris Christie has landed his first gig since leaving the New Jersey governor's mansion.

On Tuesday morning, ABC News will announce that Christie is joining the network as a contributor, a source with knowledge of the situation confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter. (The news was first reported by NJ.com.)

Christie will debut as a contributor during Tuesday's edition of Good Morning America and will comment on President Donald Trump's first State of the Union address on Tuesday night.

The media-savvy former governor is no stranger to political commentating and has even tried his hand at being a radio host, though he dropped out of contention to serve as a sports radio personality on WFAN.

Christie has had an on-again, off-again relationship with Trump and was considered for several positions in the White House.

ABC News has also recently brought on Meghan McCain, who is co-hosting The View, and political consultant Alex Castellanos as conservative contributors.

The network declined to comment when asked about Christie's role.
