Chris Rock on Dealing With Critics: "You Couldn't Bomb at Your Prom"
He's getting the highest praise of his career with 'Top Five,' but a bad review can still smart
Despite Chris Rock's immense success, he still gets bothered by a less-than-favorable appraisal.
"I can't say that [the critics] don't hurt because they have influence," Rock said during The Hollywood Reporter's writer roundtable.
He pointed out that critics never acknowledge how hard he may have worked on any given project.

Rock, who has been getting Oscar buzz for Top Five, also said that no moment quite compares to the stress felt on the day when one of his movies comes out. "We all had a prom, but you couldn't bomb at your prom," he explained.
