The anchor called out Sanders' misleading and false use of statistics.

This week's Fox News Sunday saw pushback from one of the news channel's hosts against White House spin as Chris Wallace fact-checked Press Sec. Sarah Sanders over misleading and false statements regarding border security.

Wallace began the interview by asking Sanders about the ongoing government shutdown triggered by disputes over funding for a border wall. Sanders ran through the usual White House talking points, but when she claimed that "nearly 4,000 known or suspected terrorists" came into the U.S. illegally, Wallace forcefully fact-checked her.

"I know the statistic, I didn't know if you were gonna use it but I studied up on this. Do you know where those 4,000 people come from, where they're captured? Airports. The State Department says there hasn't been any terrorist that they've found coming across the southern border," said Wallace.

Despite the pushback, Sanders continued with the same talking points.
