Christian Siriano's New Book Showcases His Dreamiest Dresses
The designer's new tome is coming Nov. 8.
During the first ten years of his young career, Christian Siriano's ultra-feminine and highly detailed creations have made him a go-to designer for red carpet-bound celebrities, brides and even the former First Lady. Now, his most gorgeous gowns are being commemorated in their very own book, due out next month.
Called Dresses to Dream About, the Rizzoli-published tome officially hits book stores on Nov. 7 and is available for $45, however it's now available for pre-order on ChristianSiriano.com and Amazon.
With over 150 pages of photographs — some of which were taken by Siriano's husband, Brad Walsh — and sketches, the book will showcase the dreamy creations that have made Siriano a favorite of leading ladies like Zendaya, Gwyneth Paltrow, Sarah Paulson and Priyanka Chopra. Readers will also get a behind-the-scenes look at the inner workings of Siriano's Manhattan studio.
"Like watching a film, there is always a story, and something to remember," said Siriano in a release. "With this book, I want to share that story."
Siriano, who appeared on the fourth season of Project Runway, has always had a reputation for over-the-top glamour, however's he's recently become known for his message of inclusivity. He was one of the first designers to send a number of plus-size women down the runway at New York Fashion Week, and has always made an effort to cast women of color in his shows. In 2016, he went out of his way to whip up a gown for actress Leslie Jones when the SNL star complained that no designers would dress her for the premiere of Ghostbusters. (The dress makes an appearance in the book, as does the blue number that was worn by Michelle Obama at the 2016 Democratic National Convention.)
Additionally, Siriano has collaborated with Lane Bryant, and had some of his red-carpet creations commemorated with their own Barbies earlier this year.
